Brands Hatch GP Circuit | 26–27 April 2025

The Brands Hatch GP round didn’t start quite as planned ….a mix-up with the test day meant I hadn’t swung a leg over the bike since Snetterton. I got just one session on Friday to reacquaint myself with the circuit (and the Fireblade). One wobbly session in the books, and that was it before qualifying!
Straight into qualifying Saturday morning and, despite limited prep, I managed to set a personal best around the GP layout, not the toughest benchmark to beat, since my last “PB” was set on my one and only previous visit to Brands GP, a track day a while back! Still, it was good enough for P5 on the grid, which was a solid launch point for the races.
The first three races saw consistent results, with P4 finishes across the board.
Race 3 was especially eventful. Nearly rear-ended Kiron going into Druids, saved it just in time but drifted onto the dirty part of the track. Tried to “Marquez” it back upright, but ran out of talent! I ended up awkwardly on the apex mid-corner, a human round-about for the pack behind. (Video of the incident is available 👉)
I thought that was that for Race 3 however a crash from another rider a couple of laps later led to a red flag and a restart. I rushed back through to rejoin the grid just in time. The restart was a 4-lap sprint and I went for it, setting a new PB of 1:32.7 and bringing it home in P4 again.
The final race was shortened to just 5 laps, got a much better launch this time and slotted straight into P3. From then on, it was a fight to keep it. My pit board read +0 from Joe and Lew every lap, so I knew the pressure was on.
I gave it everything, held the line, and on the very last lap, I put in my fastest time of the weekend — 1:32.2 — and held onto 3rd across the line. Couldn’t be happier with that result!

Next stop: Croft for Round 3.We have never been to Croft before… let’s see what we can do!
